Feature, ghost-written and published, for Stone & Webster, in Civil Engineering, November 1994. At the time I was Manager of Communications at Marketing Strategies (see resume), and Stone & Webster was a client. I picked up on this decommissioning project from a Stone & Webster communication, and felt it had great newsworthiness. Stone & Webster management agreed, and I subsequently read the government contract and engineering reports for background, interviewed the authors at Stone & Webster headquarters in Boston, drafted the article, and obtained approval of my draft from Stone & Webster management. I then submitted the article and on-site photograph to Civil Engineering, a peer-reviewed publication, and successfully negotiated its publication with then Managing Editor John Prendergast. I also approached a major local newspaper, the Boston Herald, with the story, and the effort led to coverage in the Real Estate section of the newspaper.
